ENDLESS

What is Project Endless

An idea to make games counterintuitive

Project Endless captures the essence of classic 1980s gaming by emphasizing pure skill, patience, and intellectual challenge over narrative fluff. It challenges players with intricate memory tests and evolving puzzles that reward deep understanding rather than simple progression. The game removes all distractions, focusing solely on mechanics that demand mastery, where success comes from deciphering hidden patterns through experimentation and perseverance.

Cognitive overload

Our games immerse you in intentional chaos. You’re meant to feel overwhelmed by information, movement, and decisions all at once. This isn’t about comfort. It’s about how you adapt when clarity is stripped away.

Counter-intuitive

You’ve been conditioned to follow patterns. In this space, those instincts will fail you. Progress comes when you stop trusting what feels right and start questioning everything you’ve learned about winning.

Transparent Hurdle

The obstacle is always visible. There are no tricks, no hidden mechanics. You know what you’re up against, and still, it’s hard. Success depends not on discovery, but on precision and persistence. To make user engauge to the unknown

About the Game

I’m building a game where you play as a single pixel trapped in the fading glow of an old CRT screen. There is no level system or checkpoints, just an infinite digital world that you have to remember as you move. If you stop the screen begins to darken and you disappear. The world is filled with things that look harmless but are deadly like toxic trees corrupted lakes and strange creatures. There is a way to escape but it is not obvious.

Endless is an endless exploration game where you control a single pixel inside the fading frame of an old CRT screen. The world stretches infinitely in all directions with no levels or checkpoints. Movement keeps you alive while stillness allows darkness to close in and erase you. Escape is hidden and must be discovered through understanding rather than simply finding.

Why we doing it?

I’ve always wanted to build a game, not as a developer but as a curious hobbyist. With tools like ChatGPT, Cursor, and GitHub, I’m finally exploring how ideas can turn into something real, even with limited coding experience. It’s less about the result and more about learning the process, structuring logic, and thinking like a system. This project is helping me connect creativity with code in a way that feels both challenging and exciting.

About the game

Endless is an adventure where you control a single pixel trapped inside a fading CRT screen. You must keep moving to avoid darkness that slowly consumes you. There are no levels or checkpoints just infinite space and hidden secrets to escape.

🎯 Core Mechanics

  • Infinite procedural map generation

  • Movement-based survival mechanic

  • Darkness kills if you stop moving

  • No fighting, only escape and survival

  • Hidden win condition based on understanding the game

🛠️ Development & Tools

  • Built using Python and Pygame for game logic and rendering

  • Used AI tools like ChatGPT and Cursor to help write code, structure files, and design gameplay logic

  • Modular project structure for easy expansion and testing.

🎨 Visual Style

  • Simple pixel art aesthetic

  • Dark, mysterious atmosphere inspired by CRT monitor fading

  • Responsive design for various screen sizes

How you Support

To build Endless, support can come in many forms. Feedback from other designers and developers helps refine the gameplay and experience. Guidance on optimizing performance, structuring code, or improving mechanics can speed up development. Even small contributions like testing or sharing insights can make a big difference in shaping the game.

It won’t fix the bugs, but it’ll make us feel better. Become the part of wishlist.
